vIBE FEST

WE are an influential multicultural community of people of all backgrounds speaking through music, art, fashion, & photography, and more. We are the movers and shakers, creatives, and taste-makers, once seen as outsiders, but who now directly affect pop culture. Our events are open space to be ourselves without judgement, to construct a new reality, and to live our best lives.

the mission: use artistic expression to honor the power of individuality while uniting our community through each and every event.

Vibe Fest 2018 - Summer of Love
July 20, 2018

ANSWER THE CALL: VIBE RIOT
Vibe Riot is an East Coast indie band founded in 2013 by front man Jaewar. If you fused funky groovy
kaleidoscope attitudes, charisma, and retro-sonic aesthetics with heavy drum and bass, percussion, and jazzy
guitar licks, you just might recreate something like Vibe Riot. In addition to the sultry sounds that invite listeners
to dance and unwind, Jaewar’s lyrics contain unifying messages. In an environment that encourages
frustration, Jaewar enthusiastically calls for positive change while exchanging smiles and lightness with his
diverse team of live performers and often equally diverse audience.
Vibe Riot’s resume includes shared stages and opening acts for the Third World band, Moja Nya, Trey Songz,
Angie Stone, Steel Pulse, and Michael Franti & Spearhead. They have performed at the 1,000,000 Women's
March, Levitt AMP series, Floyd Fest, African American Heritage Festivals, Pride Fest, and other multicultural
festivals. Vibe Riot’s positive message and danceable sound make them a perfect fit to serve the
Charlottesville community’s call to action
.
